I am an experienced esports consultant, editor, founder of Esports News UK, speaker, interviewer and author
As a UK esports specialist, I am passionate about promoting and driving growth within the local competitive gaming scene.
My most recent full-time role was head of content at the British Esports Association, which aims to support and promote UK esports, offer advice and increase the level of awareness of esports in Britain.
I am also the editor and founder of Esports News UK, an online publication set up in late 2015 covering the local League of Legends scene and, in early 2021, I began offering a full esports consultancy service. I have also written the occasional freelance piece for various publications, and co-founded the UK Esports Awards in 2018. Between 2013 and 2016 I worked as editor of computing trade publication PCR (formerly PC Retail), which comprises a monthly magazine, website and events.
I previously worked in B2B trade journalism for six years, having originally started out as a copywriter/web journalist for Auto Trader and moving to games trade publication MCV as staff writer.
Altogether I’ve been working in journalism for more than 13 years now. I previously studied Multimedia Journalism at Bournemouth University.
Outside of esports and journalism, I published my first book in summer 2020 - Warcraft fan fiction fantasy novel Turning Red. Oh, and I'm a massive geek; I love to play games like World of Warcraft and League of Legends!
In February 2021, I launched an esports consultancy offering, helping brands to understand the market and get involved. I can help everyone from brands to businesses, investors and more find the right strategy for them and start seeing great results.
Having worked in B2B and B2C journalism for more than 13 years, I have seen many companies run activities or market products in the gaming space, and interviewed hundreds of them. This has given me a good understanding of their challenges, the opportunities in the space and how they can tell their stories to gamers in the best way for them.
I have also seen some brands make mistakes, or receive unhelpful advice and, as I want the best for the UK esports industry, that has prompted me to step in and help advise where I can. If you’re interested in speaking with me and discovering how I can help you, please contact me.
