I love science and inspiring non-scientists to take an interest in the world around them. I enjoy the challenge of taking complex ideas and explaining them in a way that makes them easy to understand. I aim to motivate people to take an interest in the subject they are reading about and make them want to find out more. I can apply this approach to many areas of content writing.
Giving people the key information needed to understand an idea is crucial, but too much information can be overwhelming. My approach changed when I did a creative writing course. I realised stories with strong mental images draw an audience in. Alongside engaging the reader's imagination, tone of voice and how the potential customer is made to feel by reading the content are my three fundamentals to successful selling.
Working as a science researcher and then as a teacher, developed my method for selling ideas about science and technology to people who do not have science as their main focus or in their background. Using my method, I will identify the key parts of your story and communicate them effectively to your audience in an engaging way that fits in with you, and your business. This will allow you to motivate your audience to invest in your business in whichever way you have chosen.
I use this approach to develop written content for any business that wants ideas to be communicated in an engaging manner. Or for a business that needs complex, or unusual, ideas to be communicated as part of their marketing strategy. This may be in the form of content for a website or as copy for a marketing funnel (N. B. I do not do the design/graphics element, I just provide the copy).
Amongst other things, this approach is useful for: explaining complex ideas to children, getting politicians and the public on board with challenging policy developments, persuading clients of the benefits brought by new, problem-solving products.
I use these skills to write LinkedIn profiles, blogs, articles, newsletters, marketing funnels, email content and sales letters.
I respect my clients’ confidentiality so do not list projects I have worked on previously.
