At heart I am a passionate wordsmith; writing and helping others to write is my reason for getting up in the morning and I consider it a privilege that my passion in life is also my job. During my ten years in global professional services organisations (most recently as Business Development Manager in a project management firm) I honed my skills as a creator and curator of content. Sometimes this focussed on presenting facts and data in accessible ways using infographics to create briefing papers; other times it meant creating a written story around a sector or company. Telling that story, with engaging language and a flair for making even mundane things exciting to the reader, was an important part of my job. I have worked directly with leading PR agencies in London to create great content, liaising with them on large projects and dividing projects between my company’s in-house capabilities and the extra value that external agencies can add.
I create engaging, informative and hard-working content for clients in a variety of sectors. This includes blogs, press releases, newsletters, and web content; • I provide proofreading and editing services to clients who produce their own content, and I frequently ‘guest-blog’ on leading websites as well as working with affiliate marketers; • I have also undertaken extensive projects for leading law firms where I have repurposed their content to use for subsidiary organisations – avoiding the need to commission brand new articles, and ensuring the content is not down-ranked by Google as duplicate content; • I undertake my own research into ‘long-tail’ keywords for clients – this ensures that the content they read is highly tailored to their specific queries and keywords – and readers are far more likely to be converted to paying customers than if generic text or short tail keywords are used.
A large part of my freelance work has been in writing highly SEO-optimised blog articles, affiliate marketing content, web texts, and product descriptions for a variety of clients, including those in the retail, tech and sustainability sectors. I’ve worked with one of Europe’s biggest coffee specialists Coffee Friend writing affiliate marketing articles such as this one (ghost-written using SEO keywords): https://www.coffeefriend.co.uk/blog/the-aeropress-coffee-maker/.
. My work has been published in international journals such as the Sustainability Journal (https://www.thesolutionsjournal.com/article/changing-perceptions-say-yes-palm-oil/ ) and I’ve guest blogged too for companies who retail everything from wine to QR codes. I’ve also created webpage content, product descriptions and newsletter content.
